Mercedes Benz is revolutionizing
India Auto scene by unveiling it’s yet to be launched vehicle, THE NEW B-CLASS.
It’s said that, less people prefer B-class products, however, simply look at
this: it’s just the best of its class which makes the B-class a true
multi-talented vehicle of the compact class.
When we say revolutionize, it
means, a complete new segment the new B-class is going in to. It’s one of its
kind to be unveiled in India and the launch date is expected somewhere between
September-October, with an anticipated price tag of Rs 25 lakh.
Point to be noted is that the
B-class is not a complete new product by Mercedes Benz, the B-class was
launched in March 2005. It is essentially an enlarged A-Class keeping the same
engine and suspension system. Like the A-Class, and unlike any other vehicle
Mercedes builds or has built, the B-Class is a front wheel drive vehicle. Mercedes-Benz
describes this vehicle as Compact Sports Tourer, like its R-Class model, which
is called a Grand Sports Tourer.
As standard feature the
B-class would include, PRE-SAFE® ATTENTION ASSIST and COLLISION PREVENTION
ASSIST.
Mercedes Benz India will bring
only two variants of the compact class - B180 and B180 CDi. The petrol version will
arrive first, at the same time the B180 CDi diesel engine variant will arrive in
2013.
One of the most striking
differences has to be the car’s interior. There is no doubt that the quality of
materials used and the overall finish inside the B-Class establishes it beyond
the sector’s competition. The Mercedes Benz B-class would compete the Audi A3
and the BMW 1-series.
