Chevrolet has been in India for quite some time now, though,
frequent new products are not in the news from the Chevrolet, brand of General
Motors. The American car giant looks to increase its market share in the B and
C-segment through the Chevrolet Sail hatchback and sedan spotted testing in
Bangalore. GM did not see much success as expected from their Aveo twins, it
will be replaced by the Sail twin which is expected to launch later this year.
The engineers at the GM Technical Center – Bangalore,
India participated in localization of the vehicle, in view of the local
requirements. The Chevrolet Sail will come with two engines i.e. 1.2 litre
S-TEC II petrol engine and 1.3 litre multijet diesel motor. The 1.2L petrol
engine is projected to deliver mileage of 17 kmpl in city and 19 kmpl on
highways. The 1.3 diesel engine is expected to deliver 19kmpl in city and 22
kmpl on highway.
